The story of Yanos, a young man of 17, who immigrated to Oakland, Ca in 1907 from his village in Kiskore, Hungary and Anna, the daughter of a shoemaker, who immigrated from Budapest in 1911. He was an accordion player and so was his father and uncles. He passes this tradition on to his children, and then the grandchildren. One hundred years and four generations later a band is formed, in the very same town, by the great grandson of Yanos and Junk Parlor is formed. With only stories from his mother and the ancestors running through his DNA the eastern european harmony is alive and sparkling throughout the music of Junk Parlor.

A clear and lyrical collage of Eastern European Folk, Punk and Indie are omnipresent in the dramatic song writing. The rich and poetic vocals are framed with Accordion, Violin, Bass, Drums, Guitar. Both live and on the albums, Junk Parlor sways back and forth between earnestly upbeat, and time warping lullaby.

An original sound that leaves you remembering why you fell in love with music in the first place.
